TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - The second week of filming is underway for the upcoming Miley Cyrus movie, The Last Song.

Dozens of fans waited for hours for the Hannah Montana star to arrive on set at the Tybee pier Monday.

Kasey Seibert, 11, and her 8-year-old sister Hannah, came early to catch a glimpse of Miley and after two and half hours, they finally got the chance to see their idol.

"My jaw dropped," said Hannah.

"I saw Miley in person, she was so cool," said Kasey.

The star-gazing continued as people lined the sidewalks along the beach to catch the movie magic and a glimpse of Miley.

Around 600 extras filled the beach for a volleyball and carnival scene Monday. Among them were Franko Jordan and Amber Jones.

"We're going to be playing pirates and we're in the pirate's house booth," said Franko.

"The booth is the middle of everything so we think we'll have a chance to interact with her," said Amber.

Also among the extras during Monday's filming was congressman Jack Kingston. And while extras have a chance to be in a scene with Miley, the rest of us will have to take a sideline view or at least a picture.

But even if it's just a glimpse, many Miley fans are just happy to see their favorite star.

"This is my first time seeing her in person. I've only seen her on my shirts and on TV and I've got her movie and I've got everything Hannah Montana," said Miley fan Sherae Cochran. "It's just amazing that I see her come out of the van. I just love Hanna Montana too much."

Filming on Tybee will be going on for most of the week.
