Well today as part of Dollar Wise Week, students at Butler Elementary School learned the value of money. Speakers talked to them about spending a little, giving a little and saving a little.
"Well when you teach when they are young hopefully it will be a habit they pick up and grow into and something they are accustomed to doing. When children learn at an early age it becomes a practice that's easier to work with when they're older," said SunTrust Community Development manager Stephanie Johnson.
Johnson says the Neighborhood Improvement Association and Butler Elementary are starting up youth programs to encourage students to become savers.
