Brenda HughesA Savannah woman was arrested for throwing boric acid on her neighbors in what police call a hate crime. Now, she is telling her side of the story.
Brenda Hughes says she didn't do it. She even wore a T-shirt saying she didn't do it. But, Savannah-Chatham police say Hughes did.
According to the police report, Hughes called police claiming her neighbor, Kirk Patterson of Paradise Drive in Savannah, was threatening her.
Moments later, police received a call from someone else claiming Hughes had thrown a white, powdery substance on Patterson and his son. Patterson told police Hughes violently dispersed the substance onto them, but did admit he may have said he was going to hurt her after the altercation.
Hughes was taken away and charged with two counts of battery of a high and aggravated nature and one count of disorderly conduct. However, Hughes has a different take on the situation, claiming she did nothing wrong and is the victim.
