Would you buy the new OJ Simpson book?
It isn't out yet, but it's already getting mixed reviews.
If you want it, you may have to stick with the big book store chains. It's called "If I Did It." In the book, Simpson describes how would have killed his wife if he was guilty.
One local bookstore says, she's not interested.
After 31 years in business, E. Shaver Books has refused to stock only 3 books.
"I thought 'Who wants to hear about OJ Simpson anymore'," Esther Shaver told WTOC.
Make it 4.
Esther says her store won't carry it.
"I just don't want to give him any money," Esther said. "Does that sound awful?"
Esther's not even sure where she'd put it.
"Would it be fiction or non-fiction? I don't know," Esther said.
WTOC found out, some people just might buy into the OJ publicity.
Some of the responses on the street:
"I'll buy it to see what he says."
"I'd buy it just out of curiosity."
"I won't buy it, but I'll read someone else's."
"I won't buy it for the same reason I won't buy Bill Clinton's. He's a disgrace."
"I just think he's a total sociopath," Esther added. "He'll do whatever makes him money."
But, Esther admits, her interest is slightly peaked.
"I'm kind of curious about if he'll admit he did it," Esther said. "but, I don't think he'll flat out admit it."
When new releases hit E Shaver bookshelves November 30th, one thing is for sure. OJ's won't be among them.
"We're not going to stock it, but if someone wants to order, we'll have it delivered the next day," Esther said.
Who is carrying it? So far, stores like Barnes and Noble, Walden and Books-a-Million aren't sure if they are carrying the book, but probably will.
