High Gas Prices Create Concerns of Price Gouging

Gas prices have jumped yet again. They've gone up 40 cents over much of Georgia. Hurricane Katrina has sparked desperation, if not panic, among motorists. Drivers are lining up at stations to fill up.

Concerns are mounting over limited supplies of gasoline, including the possible return of long lines and scarcity reminiscent of the 1970s gas crisis.

The record high gas prices have a lot of people crying foul, suspecting that there is some major price gouging going on. If you have concerns about price gouging on gasoline, hotel rooms or other goods and services, here are some phone numbers:

In Georgia, you can call 1-800-869-1123 or 404-651-8600. In South Carolina you can call 803-734-3970.
