Melanie joined the WTOC News team in May 2001 as a news producer. She's currently the medical reporter for the evening news, and fill-in anchor for the morning and weekend news shows.
Melanie's also been a part of the WTOC SkyTrak Weather team since 2002. She's been working as a fill-in weather forecaster on THE News at Daybreak during the week.
She's always had a passion for tracking weather conditions and is grateful to have the opportunity to work with one of the best weather teams in the Southeast.
Melanie's been interested in the news business since she was 13. She interned at two major television stations in Atlanta, and was hooked on the broadcast industry.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in 2000 (GO DAWGS!) with an ABJ degree in broadcast journalism. Melanie landed her first TV job at a small cable station right after college, starting in production and working her way up to the coveted anchor position. She then made a jump to Savannah, and hasn't looked back since.
Outside of work, Melanie enjoys spending time with her new husband, Matt, two stepsons, Hayden and Trevor, and their dog, Chance. She loves watching Georgia football (GO DAWGS!), spending time outdoors, dancing, and spending time with friends.
Melanie is an active member at Savannah Christian Church and enjoys volunteering in the community.
