LYONS, GA (WTOC) - The City of Lyons is in the process of moving into their new city hall. Mayor John Moore tells WTOC they're putting a few finishing touches on the 10,000 square foot building. However, they've moved computers and such into some offices already.
The building gives employees and taxpayers more than they had in the building they used for 35 years.
"This place gives us more room, we are ADA accessible. It makes it a lot easier for customers to come in," the mayor explained.
The building cost $948,000 to build. It includes a city council chamber with space for an audience.
Until now, the council met in the mayors office with little to no space for visitors. The move frees up space for Lyons Police and Fire departments, who shared the building with city employees.
