More people added to H1N1 vaccine List

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - With more supply, the Centers for Disease Control has added another group who can now receive their vaccine.

Here's a list of those eligible for the vaccination:

• pregnant women,
• household contacts and caregivers for children under the age of six months,
• health care and emergency personnel
• everyone six months through 24 years of age
• people 24 through 64 years old who have health conditions that may put them at higher risk for complications associated with H1N1, like diabetes and asthma.

"It is only November, we have a lot of flu season left," said Chatham County Health Department medical director Dr. Diane Weems. "It is really important, if you are in one of those groups, talk to your health care provider, come to the health department, but to consider and get vaccinated against H1N1."

People over 65 are still not eligible for the vaccine.

The vaccine is available at the Chatham County Health Department, on a first come, first serve basis.
