STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) - It's a topic that divides plenty of people around the world and now a group is trying to build local support.
The local chapter of Christians United for Israel hosted a pro-Israel rally Tuesday night in Statesboro. The non-denominational group is trying to gather political support around the country to maintain America's support. Organizers say Christians and all Americans have a vested interest to protect the nation.
"Historically you can look from a purely secular standpoint that every country that has betrayed Israel is either dead or is barely breathing," said Victor Styrsky, the guest speaker of the event.
Organizers said the rally was one of the first in Georgia and the first in rural Georgia.
