By WTOC staff SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Georgia Supreme Court has upheld the murder conviction of Webster Wilson, who was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the slaying of 19-year-old Jennifer Ross. On Christmas Eve in 2005, Ross was walking through Orleans Square with friends when she was shot during a robbery attempt. She died New Year's Day. Three suspects, Michael Thorpe, Kevin Huckabee and Webster Wilson, were all convicted of at least one count of felony murder and other charges and received mandatory life sentences.
Wilson argued that his trial counsel was ineffective. He had been seeking a new trial.
