PORT WENTWORTH, GA (WTOC) - Friday marks a big day at the Imperial Sugar plant in Port Wentworth.
It's been 21 months since the explosion killed 14 people and injured dozens more In February, 2008. Now, the plant is ready to open its packaging house.
This will be the third and final phase of reconstruction, making the plant 100 percent operational.
The plant will hold a grand ceremony Friday. Imperial Sugar is one of the nation's largest processors and marketers of refined sugar.
