Haitian monument in Franklin Square.By WTOC staff
SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah's new Haitian monument honors 500 Haitians who fought in the Siege of Savannah in 1779.
But now that monument in Franklin Square is at the center of a controversy. Some Haitian-American leaders say two of the soldier's faces resemble two men who donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to have the monument completed.
Critics want the faces on the monument changed.
