SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Getting around town for pedestrians and drivers could get a lot easier.
Dan Burden, former bicycle and pedestrian coordinator for Florida, walked around Savannah's neighborhoods Tuesday to test the "walk-ability" around town. A group of locals helped out by showing problem areas and concerns while also learning new ways to make walking in Savannah safer. They also want to ease frustration of drivers.
"That will build up frustration where motorists do bizarre things with their children in the car, or with other children outside of the car," said Dan Burden. "So how do we resolve the streets so that motorists do the right things?" he asked.
Burden held a conference later in the evening to outline his plans. One of his ideas was building mini-circles which slows traffic down at busy intersections.
