JEFF DAVIS COUNTY, GA (WTOC) - The trial is underway for the murder of Allison Bamberg.  She was shot and killed in January of 2008.

Jeff Davis County sheriff's investigators say her husband, Damon Bamberg, chased her down Georgia Highway 221 from Montgomery County.

They say Damon began shooting at Allison's car while both of them drove down the road. They also say that after she pulled off the road, he shot her with his mother, Sonya Bamberg and his children waiting in the car.

A jury was chosen Monday and this morning, the trial began. Jeff Davis County sheriff Richard Deas says four people have taken the stand so far including Allison's father.

He testified that Allison called him from her car the night of her death, crying that she was being shot at and then the phone went dead.

The 911 operator, the first responder on the scene and the first Jeff Davis sheriff's deputy on the scene have testified as well.

Damon and Sonya Bamberg have maintained their innocence. If both are convicted of murder, they face life in prison.
