SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Second Harvest Food Bank is getting a much needed donation.
Paula Deen joined forces once again with Smithfield Foods, Inc.'s Helping Hungry Homes Initiative to benefit the America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia.
This is the third food delivery in a little over a year for the food bank which has been hit hard with the escalating rate of unemployment.
"Unless you've ever been down you can't understand how scary situations can be and it just warms my heard and my family's to be able to do this, " Paula Deen told WTOC.
Deen and Smithfield Foods have delivered close to 125,000 pounds of meat to Second Harvest.
