DAISY, GA (WTOC) - Did you see the weather tonight? Lots of lightning, wind, there may even have been some debris in your backyard.

But one community was hit even harder by all the storms.

Tonight, crews and homeowners are trying to pick up the pieces in the small town of Daisy in Evans County.

We went there right after the storm hit and shows us the damage.

Trees blocked roads, closing them for hours.

"It was a good little system come through we were following it on the radar," said Hagan Fire Chief Ashley Sikes.

And it hit that's for sure.

Throughout Daisy, there are power lines down, trees on homes, and debris just about everywhere you look.

Crews did what they could in the last hour of daylight to try and clean-up.

"A huge mess," said Sikes.

The storm even stopped trains.  A tree fell on the railroad tracks, forcing crews out to remove the debris.

"It wasn't just in one spot it was all over the community," Sikes added.

He thinks it will take days of work to repair homes that were hit by the storm.

"Just the next couple of days will be a major cleanup trees out of people's yards," he believes.

Yards like that of Henry Morgan.  He watched a tree in his front yard fall down.

"I've seen heavy winds before, but not this bad," Morgan affirmed.

Just about every home in Daisy has at least one tree down.  Some worse than others.

"We were inside," Morgan explained."  I happened to look out the front door and I watched my rocking chairs slide across the porch and then watched the tree slowly come down."

Crews will be back out tomorrow to assess the damage. We will keep you posted.
